B.ARCH., University of Illinois; M.PHIL. and Ph.D. in Architectural History, Yale. Dr. Roth's primary field of research is American Architecture and Urban Planning, especially from 1865 to 1940. More recently he has developed specialized interests in Oregon architecture and in Native American architecture. Books authored include: A Concise History of American Architecture; American Architecture: A History; and McKim, Mead & White, Architects. Professor Roth was the editor of America Builds and coeditor of Architecture in Colonial America. Teaches Oregon Architecture, Chicago Architecture, and Native American Architecture.
